Domain Management FAQ

I have hosting elsewhere, how do i connect my domain to this?
Your webhost should provide you with 'nameservers' that should be assigned to your domain name. Usually 2 nameservers are provided. You need to login to the above mentioned client area and choose your domain and use the domain delegation function to update nameservers. Please note that nameserver changes are never instant, it can take several hours even up to 24hrs in some cases for the new dns info to flow through the internet.

Im selling my business and need to transfer ownership of the domain to the new owner, whats involved?
With a .AU domain you will need to organise a domain ownership transfer. This requires a bit of paper work and a processing fee. The ownership transfer also includes a 2 year renewal on the domain from the date the transfer is processed. Please lodge a support request for further assistance.
For a global domain names, get the new owner to create a new client account at the above mentioned client area. Once done please lodge a support request and ask for the domain ownership to be updated.

Where do i find my domain name password?
Your domain name password for .AU domains is usually sent to you once the domain is registered. It can be resent to you at a later date by visiting the AusRegistry recover password site here. The password is sent to the domain registrant contact. If the registrant contact is not correct you will need to submit a support request to get that updated.
